The Streetwise Run 2003

Date/Venue : 6 Jul 2003
Parade Square, Sentosa
Time : 2pm onwards

The Streetwise Run is a six-week long nationwide campaign to deter juvenile delinquency and promote community awareness of youth issues. The campaign, which was launched on 2 Jun 2003 at the Singapore Street Festival, will end on 6 Jul 2003, the Sunday of the National Youth Day weekend.

Join disadvantaged and troubled youths from various social service agencies as they compete against athletes from schools, sports clubs and other youth organisations in a quarter marathon on 6 Jul 2003 at Sentosa. Younger participants and those who want to join the fun in support of the cause can also choose from a 5 km route.

The race is open to Singapore citizens, permanent residents and locally based registered students of all primary schools, secondary schools, international schools, vocational institutes/ITEs, junior colleges/centralised institutes, polytechnics and tertiary institutions.

Funds raised from participation fees, sponsorships and donations from companies and the public will benefit Beyond Social Services' anti-poverty and anti-delinquency programmes.
