next event >> Aljunied CCC S21 Dialogue Session Date : 11 Jun 2000 Venue : YWCA Organiser : Aljunied CCC What took place Mr Eddie Teo, Permanent Secretary (Prime Minister's Office) spoke to about 100 grassroots leaders about the S21 vision and how Singaporeans could respond to it (read speech). During the Q&A session, participants raised questions concerning the difficulties that less-educated Singaporeans face in marrying foreigners. They also discussed why Singaporeans were starting families later, how family ties could be strengthened, and the need to broaden the definition of success beyond academic and economic achievements. The participants later broke up into smaller groups to discuss possible S21 initiatives within their constituency. Back to TOP
