Grand Launch
of International Year of Volunteers 2001
The International Year of Voluteeers 2001 (IYV 2001) was launched by President Nathan
at the Istana on 4 Dec 2000.
The launch recognised the importance and contributions of volunteers, and marked
the start of a year of events and programmes centred around the theme
"Bring out the Volunteer in You".
The tagline uses the word "You" to bring across the point that everyone,
regardless of age, skills, race etc. are able to contribute. The aim
is to promote volunteerism across all sectors and at all levels of society.
