The Streetwise Run

Date : 7 Jul 2002
Time : 7.30am onwards
Venue : Sentosa Ferry Terminal
Organisers : Beyond Social Services
Central Singapore CDC

Disadvantaged & troubled youths from various social service agencies will compete against athletes from schools, sports clubs and other youth organisations.

It will be an opportunity to run competitively; for themselves and for the organisation that has helped them.

Funds raised through participation from participation fees, sponsorships, and donations from companies and the public will benefit Beyond Social Services' anti-poverty and anti-delinquency programmes.

These programmes help children and youth from families with social and economic problems to stabilise chaotic lifestyles, change self-defeating life-views, and encourage academic excellence and competency in life-skills such as financial literacy and family management.
